Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, the National Coordinator for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation, highlighted the significance of cooperation between workers and employers for national progress at the XV National Ordinary Congress of the Autonomous Confederation of Workers and Employees of Mexico (CATEM). She affirmed the commitment to enhancing labor rights and preventing a return to past practices.
In her address, Sheinbaum Pardo emphasized that goal alignment is vital for sustaining the transformation in Mexico’s public life. She underscored the need to advance the Fourth Transformation, steering clear of corruption and privileges of the past.
Following the inauguration of the first Labor Committees for the Defense of the Fourth Transformation within CATEM, Sheinbaum reiterated the commitment to providing a dignified life for workers, stressing the importance of cooperation between labor and business sectors, a strategy endorsed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
Senator Pedro Haces Barba, Secretary General of CATEM, praised the achievements made possible through the collaboration between labor representatives and the 4T government. He noted progress such as the rise in the minimum wage and the abolition of outsourcing, highlighting the necessity to base all decisions on the principles of the 4T movement.
Senator Ricardo Monreal emphasized the importance of bolstering the relationship between workers and the government to continue expanding labor rights under Sheinbaum Pardo’s leadership.
The XV National Congress of CATEM also saw the participation of prominent figures like Mario Delgado Carrillo, the National President of Morena, along with governors and representatives from various institutions, demonstrating widespread support for the principles and goals set forth at the conference.
