ET Gets a Sneak Peek at the ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Stars’ New West Hollywood Sandwich Shop Inspired by Nancy Meyers’ Movies
West Hollywood just got a little more delicious with the grand opening of the highly-anticipated sandwich shop, “Sandwiches and Dreams”. And ET was lucky enough to get an inside look at the charming eatery, in-part inspired by beloved filmmaker Nancy Meyers’ iconic movies.
Located in the heart of West Hollywood, “Sandwiches and Dreams” is the brainchild of “Vanderpump Rules” stars Tom Schwartz and Tom Sandoval, who have always dreamed of opening their own restaurant. “We’ve always been passionate about food and have always talked about opening a restaurant together,” Sandoval shared with ET. “So when this opportunity came up, we were beyond excited.”
The restaurant’s name is a nod to Meyers’ signature style of romantic comedies, which often feature dreamy settings and delicious food. And with their love for her films, it’s no surprise that the Toms have incorporated elements from her movies into their restaurant’s design and menu.
As soon as you step inside, you’re transported into a world of sophistication and comfort, reminiscent of Meyers’ classic films. The interior is adorned with white and blue hues, elegant marble countertops, and cozy booths, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. “We wanted to create a space where people can come in, relax, and enjoy a delicious meal,” Schwartz explained. “And we definitely took inspiration from Nancy Meyers’ films, which always have such beautiful and inviting settings.”
But the true star of “Sandwiches and Dreams” is the menu. Featuring a variety of mouth-watering sandwiches, salads, and sides, all made with fresh and locally-sourced ingredients. “We wanted to create a menu that was both comforting and elevated,” Sandoval shared. “We put a lot of thought and love into each dish, and we’re confident that our customers will be able to taste it.”
One of the standout items on the menu is the “It’s Complicated” sandwich, a delicious combination of roasted turkey, avocado, bacon, and melted brie on a freshly baked ciabatta roll. “This sandwich is a tribute to Nancy Meyers’ film of the same name,” Schwartz explained. “It’s one of our favorites, and we hope our customers will love it just as much as we do.”
And for those with a sweet tooth, “Sandwiches and Dreams” offers a delectable selection of desserts, including the “Something’s Gotta Give” chocolate cake, inspired by another one of Meyers’ hit movies. “We wanted to pay homage to Nancy Meyers in every aspect of our restaurant,” Sandoval said. “And we couldn’t resist incorporating her films into our desserts as well.”
But the Toms aren’t the only “Vanderpump Rules” stars involved in the restaurant. Their co-stars and close friends, Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright, have also joined in on the venture. “We couldn’t have done this without the support and help of our friends,” Schwartz shared. “We’re so grateful to have them by our side.”
The grand opening of “Sandwiches and Dreams” was a star-studded event, with many of the “Vanderpump Rules” cast members in attendance, along with other celebrities and influencers. And the response to the restaurant has been overwhelmingly positive. “We’re so thrilled with the turnout and the feedback we’ve received,” Sandoval said. “It’s been a dream come true.”
With their restaurant now officially open, the Toms are excited to share their passion for food with the world. “We want to create a place where people can come and make memories over a delicious meal,” Schwartz shared. “And we hope that ‘Sandwiches and Dreams’ will become a staple in the West Hollywood community.”
So, whether you’re a fan of “Vanderpump Rules” or simply looking for a tasty and charming dining experience, make sure to stop by “Sandwiches and Dreams” and indulge in a little bit of Nancy Meyers-inspired magic. Trust us, you won’t be disappointed.
