I Tested Araks’s One-Pieces, and Here’s Why They’re Worth the Splurge

Each year, as the weather gets warmer, one of my favorite things to shop for is stylish swimwear that will make me look and feel confident. I used to buy pieces that were considered the “it” style for the summer, but when the next year rolled around, I would always want a new look. I never really took the time to invest in basic swimwear staples that I could rely on for years to come – that is, until Araks came into my life.

What caught my attention about Araks’s swimwear was the brand’s ethos. Araks is all about classic pieces that you can wear again and again. Their website reads, “We design collections meant to work interchangeably with pieces from the past or those yet to come.” I was intrigued by the idea of investing in high-quality pieces that would not only stand the test of time but also be comfortable and dependable. So, naturally, I was excited to try some of their bestselling swimwear.

What Makes Good Swimwear?

When shopping for swimwear, there are a few criteria that we should keep in mind. First and foremost, it should fit comfortably and flatter our body shape. The material should be thick and durable, able to withstand everything from salty waves to chlorinated pools. Good swimwear should also provide the right coverage and have a waistline and leg cut that suits our preferences.

For those of us with a larger bust, like myself, it’s important to look for bikini tops or one-pieces with built-in support, such as an underwire or a shelf bra. Overall, good swimwear should make us feel confident and complement our personal style.

Why I Love Araks Swimwear:

I decided to try Araks’s Natalie One Piece ($320) and Juliette One Piece ($360) as both styles had classic silhouettes with a trendy twist. As soon as I received them, I was impressed by the quality of the fabric. It’s lightweight yet opaque, stretchy yet supportive. Both pieces have a built-in shelf bra, which I appreciated as someone with a bigger bust who needs that extra support.

The Natalie One Piece may look simple, but it has a cut-out back that adds a fun and breathable element to the design. The square neckline is conservative yet flattering, and the thick straps stayed in place without slipping. I usually prefer adjustable straps, but I didn’t have to worry about that with this suit.

The Juliette One Piece has a more modern and edgy design with an asymmetrical one-shoulder neckline and a cut-out at the side. The three-strip cut-out at the back adds an extra touch of style. This suit is made from Econyl fabric, a regenerated nylon made from discarded fishing nets, making it a sustainable swimwear option.

One of the things I love about Araks’s swimwear is that it aligns with their mission of creating timeless pieces that can withstand ever-changing trends. I even wore the Natalie one-piece as a bodysuit with jeans and sneakers, and no one could tell it was swimwear. It’s versatile and can be worn as an everyday staple, making it worth the investment.

Things to Consider Before Trying Araks Swimwear:

To properly care for Araks’s swimwear, the brand suggests rinsing the pieces in cool water immediately after swimming to remove excess salt and chlorine. It’s best to use a gentle detergent and dry flat but not in direct sunlight to avoid fading. Avoid tumble drying, ironing, dry cleaning, wringing, and using bleach to keep the pieces in good condition.

Who Is Araks Swimwear Best For?

Araks’s swimwear is perfect for anyone looking for high-quality, sustainable, and timeless pieces. The fabric is thick and comfortable, and the designs are flattering for a wide range of body types. As someone who has struggled to find swimwear that fits well and looks good, I appreciate how these pieces hug my body without being too tight or uncomfortable.

Is Araks Swimwear Worth the Splurge?

While Araks’s swimwear may be on the pricier side, each piece is made to last and worth the investment. If you’re tired of constantly buying new swimwear every season, investing in a couple of staple pieces from Araks can save you money in the long run. Plus, the classic designs mean you’ll never go out of style.
