BCCI’s Jay Shah gives security assurance to Bangladesh amid protest threat in IND vs BAN series

The upcoming multi-format series between India and Bangladesh has been surrounded by the threat of protests. However, in a recent development, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Jay Shah has assured the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) of top-notch security during their stay in India.

The series, which consists of three T20Is and two Test matches, is set to begin on November 3, with the first T20I being played in Delhi. The last time these two teams faced each other was during the ICC World Cup 2019, where India emerged victorious. However, this time around, the series has been overshadowed by the threat of protests from certain groups.

The protests are said to be against the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB), which was recently passed by the Indian government. The CAB aims to provide citizenship to non-Muslim immigrants from Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh who faced religious persecution in their respective countries. This has sparked controversy and protests in some parts of India, leading to concerns about the safety of the Bangladeshi cricket team.

However, the BCCI has taken swift action to address these concerns and ensure the safety of the visiting team. Jay Shah, in a letter to the BCB, has assured them of all necessary security measures during their stay in India. He has also requested the BCB to not pay heed to any rumors or speculations and trust the BCCI’s arrangements for their safety.

The BCCI has a strong track record of providing top-notch security to visiting teams, and this time will be no different. The Indian government has also assured full support to the BCCI in ensuring a safe and successful series. The Home Ministry has instructed all state governments to provide adequate security to the Bangladeshi team during their stay in India.

The BCB has expressed their gratitude towards the BCCI for their prompt action and has confirmed that the team will be traveling to India as planned. They have also urged their players to focus on the game and not be affected by any external factors.

The Indian team, led by Virat Kohli, has also welcomed their Bangladeshi counterparts and is looking forward to an exciting series. The Indian skipper, known for his sportsmanship, has assured the Bangladeshi team of a warm welcome and a fair competition on the field.

The series is crucial for both teams, as India looks to maintain their dominance in the world of cricket, while Bangladesh aims to prove their mettle against a strong opponent. The T20I series will be a crucial warm-up for both teams before the much-anticipated ICC T20 World Cup next year. The Test matches, on the other hand, will be a test of skill and endurance for both teams.

India and Bangladesh have always shared a cordial relationship on and off the field. The two nations have a rich history of cricketing ties, and this series will only strengthen the bond between them. It is heartening to see the BCCI taking proactive measures to ensure the safety of the visiting team, and this gesture will go a long way in promoting peace and harmony among the two nations.

In conclusion, the India vs Bangladesh multi-format series may have been under protest threat, but with the BCCI’s assurance of top-notch security, fans can now look forward to an exciting and fair competition between the two teams. Let us all come together and support the spirit of sportsmanship and celebrate the game of cricket.
