Welcome to our special segment, DRS or the Daily Review System. In this, InsideSport will provide you with the top cricket stories from the previous day that you might have missed in the hustle and bustle of your busy life.

March 20 was an eventful day in the world of cricket, with some exciting news and updates coming in from various teams and players. Let’s take a look at the top stories that made headlines.

First up, we have some good news for Rajasthan Royals (RR) fans. The team’s star all-rounder, Ben Stokes, has been declared fit and is all set to join the squad for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Stokes had been out of action due to a finger injury and his return is a huge boost for the Royals, who will be looking to make a strong comeback after a disappointing season last year.

In another interesting development, Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) captain KL Rahul has decided to part ways with the franchise and join Delhi Capitals (DC) for the upcoming season. This move comes as a surprise to many, as Rahul had been an integral part of KXIP for the past few years. However, with DC’s strong squad and their recent success in the IPL, it seems like a smart move for the talented batsman.

Moving on to international cricket, Indian batsman Shreyas Iyer almost scored a century in the first ODI against England. Iyer, who was making a comeback after recovering from a shoulder injury, played a brilliant knock of 98 runs before getting dismissed. His performance was crucial in India’s victory over England and it is a positive sign for the team as they gear up for the T20 World Cup later this year.

In other news, the Indian women’s cricket team has announced their squad for the upcoming ODI and T20 series against South Africa. The team will be led by Mithali Raj, who will be making her comeback after being rested for the T20 series against England. The squad also includes some young and promising players like Shafali Verma and Jemimah Rodrigues, who will be looking to make a mark in the series.

Moving on to the world of Test cricket, New Zealand has announced their squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh. The team will be led by Kane Williamson and includes some experienced players like Ross Taylor and Trent Boult. This series will be crucial for both teams as they look to prepare for the upcoming World Test Championship final against India.

In some heartwarming news, former South African cricketer AB de Villiers has pledged to donate a portion of his IPL salary to help fight the COVID-19 pandemic in India. De Villiers, who is a part of the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) squad, has always been a fan favorite in India and his gesture has been appreciated by fans and fellow cricketers alike.

In other IPL news, the BCCI has announced that the upcoming season will be played behind closed doors due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in India. This decision has been taken keeping in mind the safety of players, staff, and fans. However, the matches will be broadcasted live on television and fans can still enjoy the action from the comfort of their homes.

That’s all for today’s edition of DRS. We hope you enjoyed catching up on the latest cricket news and updates. Stay tuned for more exciting stories from the world of cricket. Until then, keep supporting your favorite teams and players and stay safe.
