RR coach throws towel in ring, says Parag & co “probably out of IPL 2025”

In a major blow to the Rajasthan Royals, their bowling coach Shane Bond has given up on the team’s chances of making it to the playoffs this season. The former New Zealand fast bowler expressed his disappointment in the team’s performance so far and believes that the young guns like Riyan Parag and others may have to wait for a few more years before they can taste success in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Speaking to Inside Sport India, Bond said, “It’s been a tough season for us. We had high hopes at the start of the tournament but unfortunately, things haven’t gone our way. As a coach, it’s disappointing to see the team struggle and not being able to deliver the desired results.”

The Rajasthan Royals had a promising start to the tournament, winning their first two matches. However, they have failed to maintain the momentum and have suffered six consecutive losses since then. With just two wins in eight matches, the team currently sits at the bottom of the points table.

Bond believes that the lack of experience and consistency has cost the team dearly. He said, “We have a young team with a lot of potential, but they lack the experience of playing under pressure situations. In a tournament like IPL, where every match is crucial, you need players who can handle the pressure and deliver when it matters the most.”

One of the biggest positives for the Rajasthan Royals this season has been the emergence of Riyan Parag as a key player for the team. The 19-year-old all-rounder has impressed with his performances and has been a vital cog in the team’s batting line-up. However, Bond feels that Parag and other youngsters in the team may have to wait for a few more years before they can take the team to the playoffs.

Bond said, “Parag has been exceptional for us this season. He has shown a lot of maturity and has played some crucial knocks for the team. But I believe it may be a little too early for him and other young players like him to take the team to the playoffs. They need more exposure and experience before they can become consistent performers in the IPL.”

With the team’s chances of making it to the playoffs all but over, Bond has already set his sights on the next season. He said, “We will continue to give our best in the remaining matches and try to finish the season on a high. But realistically, we need to start planning for the next season and look to build a more balanced and experienced team.”

Despite the disappointment, Bond remains optimistic about the future of the Rajasthan Royals. He believes that the team has a bright future and can bounce back stronger in the upcoming seasons.

He said, “I have no doubt that the Rajasthan Royals will come back stronger in the next few seasons. We have a great set of players and a supportive management. It’s just a matter of time before we start seeing the desired results. I am confident that the team will be back in contention for the playoffs in the near future.”

In conclusion, while it may be a tough pill to swallow for the Rajasthan Royals and their fans, Shane Bond’s assessment of the team’s chances in this season’s IPL may be a harsh reality check. However, it is important to remember that setbacks are a part of the journey to success and with the right attitude and determination, the team can surely turn things around and come back stronger in the next season.
