Welcome to our special segment, DRS or the Daily Review System. We, at InsideSport, understand that with our busy schedules, it can be hard to keep up with all the cricket news and updates. That’s why we have come up with DRS – your one-stop destination to catch up on all the top cricket stories from the previous day. So, let’s dive into the latest happenings in the world of cricket.
On April 7, our DRS report is filled with some exciting, yet surprising news. The cricket world was left in shock as reports revealed that former Indian captain and Chennai Super Kings’ captain, MS Dhoni, is considering retirement from the Indian Premier League (IPL). This came as a surprise to many as Dhoni has been an integral part of the CSK squad since the league’s inception in 2008.
According to sources, Dhoni is contemplating retirement due to his increasing age and his desire to spend more time with his family. However, nothing has been confirmed yet, and fans are eagerly waiting for an official announcement from the legendary cricketer himself. If this turns out to be true, it will be a major loss for the CSK team, as well as for the IPL as a whole. Dhoni’s presence on the field has always been a source of inspiration for many young cricketers, and his retirement will be a huge void to fill.
In other news, Delhi Capitals faced a major setback as their star player, Anrich Nortje, had to exit the team’s camp for an indefinite period. The South African pacer has been in sensational form this season, picking up 5 wickets in 2 matches. However, he had to leave the camp due to personal reasons, and it is unclear when he will return. This will be a big blow for the Delhi Capitals, who were relying on Nortje to lead their pace attack.
Moving on to the Pro Kabaddi League, the Gujarat Titans faced a major setback as their star raider, Sachin Tanwar, suffered a serious injury during a training session. The 22-year-old was diagnosed with a grade 3 injury on his left ankle and will be out of action for at least 8 weeks. This will be a huge loss for the Titans, as Sachin was their leading raider in the previous season, scoring 200 points in 20 matches. We wish him a speedy recovery and hope to see him back on the mat soon.
In other news, the Indian women’s cricket team is all set to make a comeback to the field after a long break due to the pandemic. The team will tour England in June to play a one-off Test, as well as a limited-overs series against the English women’s team. This will be a crucial series for the Indian team, as they have not played any international matches since March 2020. It will be interesting to see how the team performs after such a long break and if they can continue their winning streak.
On a positive note, the Indian men’s cricket team has had a fantastic start to their tour of Sri Lanka. In the first ODI, India defeated Sri Lanka by 7 wickets, with opener Shikhar Dhawan scoring a brilliant century. The team will look to continue their winning momentum in the remaining two ODIs and the three T20Is. It is also a great opportunity for young players to showcase their talent and cement their place in the team.
That’s all for today’s DRS report. Stay tuned for more cricket updates and highlights from around the world.
