As a result, elected Democrats risk being on the wrong side of history. They risk being remembered as the ones who failed to defend and protect one of the most vulnerable and marginalized communities in our society. This is not a legacy that any political party or individual should be willing to accept.
It is time for elected Democrats to step up and defend the transgender community. It is time for them to use their positions of power and influence to fight back against these discriminatory policies and protect the rights and dignity of the transgender population.

Additionally, elected Democrats must speak out against the Trump administration’s attacks on the transgender community. We have to push for progress, shaping a world where all of us can feel free, proud, and queer.” It is time for Democrats to join this fight and stand on the right side of history – the side that is inclusive, compassionate, and just.
