From Grief to Guns: Baloch Women in Conflict

in Politics
Reading Time: 2 mins read

Fozia Shashani, a 26-year-old member of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee, has expressed her pain and disappointment at the recent news of two Baloch women, Hawa Baloch and Asifa Mengal, being involved in active combat as suicide bombers. In an interview with a local news channel, Shashani stated that this act goes against the principles of peaceful resistance that she and many other Baloch activists believe in.

Shashani, who has been actively involved in advocating for the rights of Baloch people, was shocked to hear about the involvement of these two women in such a violent act. For her, this goes against the very essence of the Baloch struggle, which is rooted in peaceful resistance and non-violent means of protest.

The Baloch people, who have long been struggling for their rights and autonomy, have always believed in the power of peaceful resistance. This belief has been passed down from generation to generation and is deeply ingrained in the Baloch culture. As Shashani explains, “We have always believed that our struggle for justice and rights can be achieved through peaceful means. Violence only brings more violence and destruction, and we do not want to perpetuate this cycle.”

The involvement of Baloch women, who have always played a crucial role in the Baloch society, in violent activities is a cause for concern for many. Women in Balochistan have been at the forefront of the movement, advocating for their rights and the rights of their community. They have been actively involved in peaceful protests, sit-ins, and other forms of non-violent resistance. Therefore, the news of two Baloch women taking part in active combat as suicide bombers is a complete contrast to the long-standing beliefs and values of the Baloch people.

Shashani further stated that the Baloch struggle is not just about seeking independence or autonomy, but also about preserving the Baloch culture and values. She believes that the involvement of Baloch women in violent activities not only goes against the principles of peaceful resistance but also tarnishes the image of Baloch people in the eyes of the world.

Moreover, Shashani emphasized that the Baloch people have always been peace-loving and have always sought to resolve their issues through dialogue and peaceful means. She urged the Baloch youth to follow the path of peaceful resistance and not be swayed by violence and extremism. “Our struggle is not just for ourselves, but for the future generations. We must show the world that we are a peaceful and resilient community, and our struggle for justice and rights will continue through peaceful means,” she stated.

In conclusion, Fozia Shashani’s statement reflects the sentiments of many Baloch activists who have been working tirelessly for the rights of their community. The involvement of Baloch women in violent activities is a matter of grave concern and goes against the core values of the Baloch struggle. It is essential for the Baloch people to stay true to their beliefs and continue their peaceful resistance in order to achieve their goals and preserve their culture. As Shashani rightly said, “Our path is of peace, and we must never stray from it.”
