Dana White Moves On From Conor McGregor as He Reveals New “Faces of the UFC”

Reading Time: 3 mins read

When Conor McGregor burst onto the UFC scene, he quickly became one of the most talked-about and polarizing figures in the sport. His brash personality, flashy style, and undeniable talent made him a fan favorite and a force to be reckoned with in the octagon. And throughout his rise to fame, there was one man who stood by his side, cheering him on every step of the way – UFC President Dana White.

White saw something special in McGregor from the very beginning. He recognized his potential to not only become a champion in the UFC, but also to help elevate the sport to new heights. And that’s exactly what McGregor did. With his larger-than-life persona and impressive fighting skills, he helped transform the UFC from a niche sport into a global phenomenon.

It’s no wonder then, that White often referred to McGregor as the “poster boy” of the UFC. He was the face of the organization, the one who drew in the crowds and captured the attention of the world. But now, as McGregor’s career takes a different turn, White seems to be moving on from him and looking towards new faces to represent the UFC.

In a recent interview, White revealed that he is no longer relying on McGregor to be the face of the UFC. Instead, he is looking to a new generation of fighters to take on that role. And while some may see this as a sign of a rift between White and McGregor, it’s actually a natural progression for both the fighter and the organization.

McGregor’s meteoric rise to fame and fortune has been well-documented. He went from being a relatively unknown fighter to a global superstar in a matter of years. And with that level of success comes a lot of pressure and responsibility. McGregor became more than just a fighter, he became a brand. And with that comes a lot of distractions and demands that can take away from his focus in the octagon.

But now, as McGregor’s career has taken a bit of a hiatus, White is looking to other fighters to step up and become the new faces of the UFC. And there are plenty of contenders for that title. From current champions like Khabib Nurmagomedov and Jon Jones, to rising stars like Israel Adesanya and Jorge Masvidal, the UFC has a deep pool of talent to choose from.

This is not to say that McGregor’s time in the UFC is over. He is still one of the biggest draws in the sport and his return to the octagon is highly anticipated. But White’s decision to move on from him as the face of the UFC is a smart move for the organization. It allows for new stars to emerge and keeps the sport fresh and exciting.

And let’s not forget, McGregor is not the only fighter who has been the face of the UFC. Before him, there was Georges St-Pierre, Anderson Silva, and Ronda Rousey, just to name a few. The UFC has always been able to adapt and evolve, and that’s exactly what it’s doing now.

In fact, White’s decision to move on from McGregor may actually be a good thing for the fighter himself. It takes some of the pressure off of him and allows him to focus on his return to the octagon without the added burden of being the face of the UFC. And who knows, maybe this break will reignite his passion for the sport and we’ll see a new and improved McGregor when he does make his comeback.

In the end, McGregor will always be remembered as one of the greatest fighters in UFC history. He helped bring the sport to new heights and his impact will never be forgotten. But as White looks towards the future, it’s clear that he has his sights set on new faces to represent the UFC. And with the talent and potential of the current roster, the future of the UFC is looking brighter than ever.
