‘Bridesmaids’ cast hilariously reunite at 2026 Oscars

Reading Time: 2 mins read

The 2026 Oscars brought together some of the biggest names in Hollywood, but it was a reunion of a different sort that stole the show. The iconic cast of the hit comedy film, “Bridesmaids”, took to the stage for a presenting segment that had the audience in stitches. Melissa McCarthy, Rose Byrne, Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, and Ellie Kemper, all looking as stunning as ever, proved that their chemistry and comedic timing is still as sharp as it was when the film was released in 2011.

As they walked out on stage, the crowd erupted into cheers and applause, clearly thrilled to see the beloved cast back together. The five women, who have all gone on to have successful careers in Hollywood, wasted no time in getting the audience laughing. Their witty banter and playful jabs at each other were a reminder of the hilarious dynamic that made “Bridesmaids” such a hit.

Melissa McCarthy, who has become known for her impeccable comedic timing, kicked off the segment with a joke about the long-awaited sequel to “Bridesmaids”. “I can’t believe it’s been 15 years since we made ‘Bridesmaids 2’,” she quipped, causing the audience to erupt into laughter. Rose Byrne, known for her roles in hit films like “Neighbors” and “Spy”, followed up with a cheeky response, “I think you mean 10 years, Mel.” The back-and-forth between the two actresses had the audience in stitches and set the tone for the rest of the segment.

Kristen Wiig, who co-wrote and starred in “Bridesmaids”, then took the mic and continued the banter with her fellow castmates. “Can you believe we were all unknowns when we made that film?” she asked, to which Maya Rudolph replied, “Speak for yourself, Kristen. I was already a star.” The playful teasing between the cast showed that their chemistry is just as strong off-screen as it is on-screen.

As the segment continued, the cast reminisced about their time on set and shared behind-the-scenes stories that had the audience in hysterics. From Maya Rudolph’s infamous food poisoning incident to Ellie Kemper’s awkward dance scene, it was clear that the cast had formed a strong bond while making the film. Their genuine friendship and camaraderie shone through, making it clear why “Bridesmaids” has become a cult classic.

The reunion wouldn’t have been complete without a nod to the late, great director Paul Feig, who sadly passed away in 2023. The cast took a moment to pay tribute to Feig, who was instrumental in bringing the film to life and creating the iconic characters that the audience fell in love with. Their heartfelt tribute was met with a standing ovation from the audience, a testament to the impact that Feig and “Bridesmaids” had on the film industry.

As the segment came to a close, the cast couldn’t help but take one last jab at each other, with Maya Rudolph jokingly asking if they were going to make “Bridesmaids 3” in another 15 years. The audience cheered in approval, showing that they would love to see these talented women reunite on screen once again.

The 2026 Oscars may have been a night to celebrate the best in film, but it was the reunion of the “Bridesmaids” cast that stole the show. Melissa McCarthy, Rose Byrne, Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, and Ellie Kemper proved that their comedic chemistry is still as strong as ever, leaving the audience in stitches and reminding us why we fell in love with them in the first place. Here’s hoping we don’t have to wait another 15 years for another reunion.
