Generative AI Literacy: A Proposed Way Forward

As researchers in the field of AI, we have come together to reflect on the inspiration behind our research article, “Facilitating Generative AI Literacy,” and propose a way forward for this exciting technology.
Our team, consisting of co-authors Stefanie Beninger, Alex Reppel, Julie Stanton, and Forrest Watson, has been working in the field of AI for several years. We have witnessed the rapid advancements in generative AI and its impact on society. While the potential benefits of this technology are undeniable, we also recognize the potential risks and challenges it poses. This realization led us to delve deeper into the concept of generative AI literacy.
Generative AI literacy refers to the ability to understand and critically evaluate the content generated by AI systems.
