Meet the Billionaires Profiting the Most From Trump’s Draconian Policies

Reading Time: 3 mins read

A recent report has shed light on the alarming trend of corporate executives profiting from the authoritarian policies of the Trump administration. While the American people continue to suffer from the harsh and often draconian measures implemented by the current administration, a select group of billionaires have been quietly enriching themselves at the expense of the American people.

The report, released by The Intercept, reveals the names of these “usual suspects” who have been reaping the benefits of Trump’s policies. These individuals, who have long been known for their immense wealth and influence, have now found a new way to capitalize on the current political climate.

One of the top beneficiaries of Trump’s authoritarianism is none other than the infamous Koch brothers. Known for their massive contributions to conservative causes, the Koch brothers have been actively lobbying for policies that benefit their business interests. With Trump in power, they have found a willing ally who is more than happy to cater to their demands. From rolling back environmental regulations to pushing for tax cuts for the wealthy, the Koch brothers have been able to further their own agenda while the rest of the country suffers.

Another name on the list is that of Robert Mercer, a billionaire hedge fund manager and major Trump donor. Mercer has been a key figure in the rise of right-wing media and has been using his wealth to fund various conservative causes. With Trump in the White House, Mercer has been able to push for policies that align with his own interests, such as the repeal of the Affordable Care Act and the implementation of tax cuts for the wealthy.

But it’s not just the usual suspects who are profiting from Trump’s authoritarianism. The report also highlights the lesser-known executives who have been quietly amassing wealth through their ties to the current administration. One such individual is Carl Icahn, a billionaire investor and close friend of Trump. Icahn has been using his influence to shape policies that benefit his own business interests, such as the rollback of regulations that were hindering his oil refinery business.

Another name on the list is that of Peter Thiel, a billionaire tech entrepreneur and vocal supporter of Trump. Thiel has been using his connections to the administration to further his own agenda, including pushing for the privatization of government services and the expansion of his own company, Palantir.

The list goes on, with other names including Sheldon Adelson, a casino mogul and major Trump donor, and Harold Hamm, a billionaire oil tycoon who has been pushing for the expansion of oil and gas drilling on public lands.

While these billionaires continue to rake in profits, the American people are left to bear the brunt of Trump’s authoritarian policies. From the separation of families at the border to the rollback of environmental protections, the consequences of these policies are being felt by millions of Americans.

But it’s not just about the financial gains for these billionaires. By supporting Trump and his authoritarian agenda, they are also furthering their own political ideologies. Many of these individuals have long been advocates for limited government and free-market capitalism, and with Trump in power, they have been able to push for policies that align with their beliefs.

It’s a dangerous trend that must be addressed. The American people deserve leaders who prioritize their well-being over the interests of a select few. It’s time for these billionaires to be held accountable for their actions and for the government to start working for the people, not just a handful of wealthy individuals.

In the words of The Intercept, “The true cost of Trump’s authoritarianism is not just measured in dollars, but in the erosion of democracy and the well-being of the American people.” It’s time to put an end to this trend and start working towards a more equitable and just society for all.
