How Biden Is to Blame for Israel and the U.S.’s 12-Day War Against Iran

For twelve long days, the world watched in horror as Israel and Iran engaged in a bloody conflict that threatened to escalate into a full-scale war. The loss of innocent lives and destruction of cities was a stark reminder of the deadly consequences of political miscalculations and failed diplomacy. And while many have pointed the finger at Israel for launching the airstrikes, the truth is that President Joe Biden must also shoulder some of the blame for this catastrophic situation.

Biden’s failure to reenter the nuclear deal with Iran, a decision that was touted as a strategic move, has created the perfect storm for a potential U.S. war against Iran. This failure has not only jeopardized the stability of the Middle East, but it also directly contributed to the recent deadly conflict between Israel and Iran. In short, Biden’s inaction has undermined peace and put countless innocent lives at risk.

Let’s rewind back to 2015 when the Iran nuclear deal, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), was first signed under President Barack Obama. The deal, which aimed to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons, was seen as a major victory for international diplomacy. It not only eased tensions between the U.S. and Iran but also had the potential to bring about positive changes in the Middle East.

However, in 2018, former President Donald Trump decided to withdraw from the JCPOA, claiming that it was a “terrible deal” and that he could negotiate a better one. This decision was met with widespread criticism, as it not only isolated the U.S. from its allies but also put the future of the deal in jeopardy. In response, Iran began to gradually withdraw from the agreement and ramp up its nuclear activities. And while the rest of the world urged the U.S. to rejoin the deal, Biden failed to do so, insisting on renegotiating the terms.

This delay and uncertainty have only emboldened hardliners in Iran and Israel, who have long been at odds with each other. While Israel sees Iran as an existential threat, Iran sees Israel as a major obstacle to its regional ambitions. With tensions at an all-time high, it was only a matter of time before a small spark ignited a deadly conflict. And that spark came in the form of an Israeli airstrike on a Syrian research facility, which they claimed was being used by Iran to develop precision guided missiles.

In retaliation, Iran launched a barrage of rockets at Israeli targets, leading to an escalation of violence on both sides. And as the days went by, the situation only worsened, with Israel launching more airstrikes and Iran increasing its attacks on Israeli cities. The death toll and destruction mounted, and the world looked on in fear and despair.

But what could have been done to prevent this catastrophic situation? The answer lies in Biden’s failure to reenter the nuclear deal with Iran. By failing to take decisive action, he has signaled to Israel that the U.S. is not willing to commit to the deal and will not stand in their way if they choose to attack Iran. This has given Israel a free hand to make unilateral decisions that have deadly consequences.

Moreover, the lack of U.S. involvement and leadership in the region has only emboldened Iran to continue its aggressive actions. With no hope of relief from sanctions or rejoining the JCPOA, Iran saw no reason to de-escalate the conflict with Israel. And as the situation spiraled out of control, it became clear that Biden’s foreign policy approach has failed to bring about peace in the Middle East.

In the midst of this chaos and destruction, we cannot ignore the devastating impact on innocent civilians caught in the crossfire. Children have been killed, families have been displaced, and cities have been reduced to rubble. All of this could have been avoided if Biden had taken decisive action and reentered the nuclear deal with Iran.

As the dust settles and a fragile ceasefire takes hold, it is time for Biden to reflect on his foreign policy decisions and take responsibility for the role he played in this deadly conflict. He must recognize the urgency of rejoining the nuclear deal and working with all parties involved to bring about lasting peace in the region.

In conclusion, Biden’s failure to reenter the Obama-era nuclear deal with Iran has contributed to the recent deadly conflict between Israel and Iran. This failure has not only undermined peace and stability in the region but also put innocent lives at risk. It is time for Biden to acknowledge
